Fourth annual A Not So Silent Summer brings Paul Brandt and three local acts to the Marriott’s ONEUP! Rooftop, with every dollar aimed at ending sexual exploitation in Canada
The 4th Annual A Not So Silent Summer takes over the ONEUP! Rooftop Patio at the Calgary Marriott Downtown on Saturday, July 25, from 4 to 10 p.m., with live performances by Calgary artists Alex Hughes, Dempsey Bolton and Eden Taylor plus a special guest set from country music icon Paul Brandt.

Proceeds support #NotInMyCity, the Calgary-born movement Brandt founded to prevent, disrupt and end human trafficking and child sexual exploitation in Canada.
The premise has never changed. Neither has the point.
Human trafficking is one of the fastest-growing crimes in Canada. According to #NotInMyCity, 93% of reported victims are Canadians trafficked within their own country, and nearly three quarters of them, 72%, are under the age of 25.

A Not So Silent Events, founded in 2019 by Lyle Peterman, Morgan Melnyk and Mallory Welechenko, has raised $311,500 for #NotInMyCity by pairing emerging local musicians with full-scale production and pointing every ticket at the cause. The city’s up-and-coming artists get a serious stage out of the deal, and the movement gets funding for awareness, education and survivor support across the country.
The fourth edition keeps that recipe intact. Hughes, Bolton and Taylor each take a full set through the evening, with DJ sets between them and Brandt closing the night as the downtown skyline lights up behind the stage.
